HSA's creating the most buzz but employees don't contribute as much unless the boss kicks some in

UnitedHealthcare came out with a survey of its customers today that showed 86% of people opened an HSA if their employer offered up a contribution.   Part of the reason, is that consumers are so emotionally tied to the “co-pay” that they don’t understand how it hurts them, and when presented with a consumer driven health plan, they are not sure what to do untill properly educated.

One suggestion is for the first year, the employer kicks in some of the premium savings to get the employee jumpstarted so they can experience the benefits of the HSA program which can be extreemely beneficial for those who are healthy and also those who are really sick.
