I definitely agree that they are rushing through it. I know the current system could certainly be more beneficial to low income families and the uninsured. I think it's important that privatized insurance remain a viable option, but I don't feel like it should be the only option.

I think the biggest problem with the health care situation is that individuals aren't doing enough on their own to make sure, just like you mentioned. Politicians are another problem altogether.

Rushing through it is definitely a possibility but I think before anything gets passed there should be a campaign for awareness and information on the subject. I also feel like cooperation with insurance agencies is a must. Both private and public sides need to be viable options. I think this is something that will happen eventually, but certainly not in the beginning. It takes so long to get anything done in the first place with the government, and many times it's not done right until way later after analysis anyway.

So I agree, individual responsibility is a key issue in this situation, but my outlook is very negative on how well that will come into play. The people who are already satisfied by their insurance may not have interest because they misinformed about what could change. The uninsured and low-income families may be throwing it all to the current administration to handle and just hope for the best.

Politicians can only work with what you give them. I hope they're listening to the people who are actually talking about this, as I'm uninsured myself and I think something for that health care coverage category needs to change.
